Alexa was introducted to sewing in her high school Home Economics class, and loved it! She made her first quilt as an end-of-year project. Post high school, she didn’t own a sewing machine and didn’t do any sewing for about three years until she got married and moved from Canada to the United States. Upon finding out she was pregant with her first child, she purchased a sewing machine and made a quilt for her new baby. She still wasn’t fully into sewing yet at this point, but when her baby was about 6 months old and she was a stay-at-home-mom, her husband suggested she make some more quilts to fill her time. This was in the fall of 2016 and she hasn’t stopped quilting since. In January 2019 she released her first quilt patterns and entered the world of quilt pattern design. Since then she has released several more patterns, some for sale and some free downloads, which you can find on her website at www.alexaquilts.com.
