Danielle Coronado

Danielle is the designer behind Coronado Quilt Co. She currently lives in Austin, Texas with her husband, their two-year-old daughter and their pup Sequoia. She is originally from California and draws inspiration for her designs from the western wilderness.

She made her first quilt when she was about eight years old alongside her mom in her church quilting group. She spent many years after that sewing garments in her 4-H Clothing and Textiles project. She had no idea at the time that she could turn her love for textile art into a career.

She began her career in education receiving her degree in Elementary Education and eventually became a teacher at the University of Texas at Austin Child Development Center. Working with children provided her with a creative outlet, but she always dreamed of more. When she had her daughter, she took the time off to focus on learning to be a mom, as well as working to become the role model she wanted to be for her daughter. Shortly after her maternity leave was over, she resigned from her teaching position to pursue her dream of becoming a designer.

Today, she stays home with her daughter and squeezes in as much quilting as possible during nap time and after bed. The best part of this career change for Danielle has been that she is able to show her daughter it is possible to dream big and that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to.
