Michelle is a photographer, designer, and technical writer, who combined her love of art and instruction into a passion for quilting. Her current favorite project is her Milestone Medallion quilt, which documents her daughter’s first year #claramilestonequilt . Michelle is the former president of the quilt pattern company, Quilt Theory, where she led a team of designers creating simple and modern patterns. She continues to design quilt patterns for magazines, books, and her website. Her work has been published in Table Runner Roundup for Martingale Books as well as Modern Patchwork, Love Patchwork and Quilting, and the Quilter’s Planner. She has also been featured on several podcasts, including Pat Sloan’s American Patchwork & Quilting, and Stephanie Kendron’s Modern Sewciety. Additionally, Michelle was selected as an instructor for QuiltCon 2018; helping makers document projects in simple, beautiful, and creative ways during her basic and advanced quilt photography courses. She lives in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest with her husband & two adventurous daughters, and is on a mission to fill their house with quilty goodness.
