Novia Jonatan is a letterer based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Her introduction with lettering was back in 2012 and like so many amazing things, happened by accident, and she can’t stop drawing letters ever since. She loved quotes before she knew lettering. Churchill said “you can learn a lot more from reading quotes” and she believes that words have impact on people since the beginning of human history. So, when she found lettering, she combines both of them and she could never be happier that she found out what she wants to do for the rest of her life. Besides letters, she loves her coffee, her monthly enjoyment is browsing through different coffee beans and trying them. And despite born and bred in tropical weather, she has sun allergies (the irony!) so she avoids sun as much as possible.
Where she gets ideas for her works you ask? She sleeps and take a shower. Best ideas always come out when you have a fresh mind, no need to stress about it. She believes that every person was born for a purpose and that purpose is not to work the job you dislike and grumbling over it, find the true desire of your heart- as Mark Twain said, “two of the most important days in your life are the day when you were born, and the day you find out why.” Your time is limited, let go of those worries that burdens you, the excuses you keep telling yourself and fears that controls you, be courageous and honest to yourself, go on the adventure of your lifetime, the adventure of finding the reason you are here on earth and do it, because life is more than this and you only live once, make it matter. Yes, it will not be easy, but it will be worth it.
