Disintegrating Artichokes

Message from the designer, Sylvia Schaefer: I created this design in an attempt to make a larger, show-worthy quilt based on my Artichoke block. I’m frequently asked for a pattern, but the quilt was pieced in such a strange and improvisational way that I’ve found that all but impossible, so I’m very happy to offer this design as a printed panel! Letting the blocks disintegrate creates a design with lots of motion and lots of negative space in which to get creative with your quilting—try carrying the theme of disintegration into the stitching. The geometric design is also great for ruler work.

Available in three distinct sizes, this custom printed quilt top is made of a 100% lightweight polyester blend. The fabric is color fast, will not unjustly fade and the ink will not bleed through years of washing. It is machine washable, with cold water on gentle cycle using mild detergent – tumble dry with low heat. Featuring vivid colors and crisp lines, this highly unique and versatile fabric is durable enough for both indoor and outdoor use. It has minimal stretch, and a fine weave.
