Sunflowers for Ukraine

Message from the designer, Marcy Horswill: It is March 2022, a time of turmoil for the people of the Ukraine. Around the world, many feel helpless as the atrocities of war are televised near and far. This quilt top is designed to offer quilters (and others) a piece to quilt while awaiting the outcome. Perhaps it can become a quilt for a friend, or for someone with family in the Ukraine. If there is a plan to supply Ukrainian refugees or other Ukrainians in need (here or abroad) with quilts, this quilt top could easily become a quilt to ease a journey and offer comfort. Blue and yellow are the national colours of Ukraine. The sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine. The decorative border is a traditional folk design often used on Pysanka, a Ukrainian Easter Egg.

Available in three distinct sizes, this custom printed quilt top is made of a 100% lightweight polyester blend. The fabric is color fast, will not unjustly fade and the ink will not bleed through years of washing. It is machine washable, with cold water on gentle cycle using mild detergent – tumble dry with low heat. Featuring vivid colors and crisp lines, this highly unique and versatile fabric is durable enough for both indoor and outdoor use. It has minimal stretch, and a fine weave.
